Though it sometimes seems that carpet, vinyl, and wood are the only flooring options, alternatives do exist. BioFelt from Chilewich’s Contract Collection is a PVC-free tile-backing system with 82% recycled content. It’s designed to be specified with the company’s low-VOC Plynyl tile. BioFelt can be installed with adhesives or Velcro Brand Hook Squares, a modular flooring installation system that connects each tile to another tile, as well as to the floor using Velcro.
