Statistician and author Nate Silver, who became the go-to fortune teller in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, will give the closing plenary address at the 2013 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the USGBC announced today. This year’s conference takes place from Nov. 20-22 in Philadelphia and Silver will speak from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 22.

Silver, who is the founder of FiveThirtyEight.com, a blog for The New York Times, gained national attention in 2008 when he correctly predicted the results of the presidential primaries and the presidential winner in 49 of the 50 U.S. states. Under FiveThirtyEight.com, he continues to publish a running forecast of current elections and hot-button issues. Silver joins a conference program that already includes Hillary Clinton as the opening keynote and rock band Bon Jovi as the opening plenary’s entertainment.
