Project Description

As part of Harvard University Art Museums reconfiguration, an off-campus conservation lab and research center was renovated to serve as an extension of the museums where students, faculty and scholars may access collections and research materials. The front face of the center is visually opened by a series of layered glazed partitions, while extensions of the floor finishes and ceiling plane draw towards the interior. The heart of the renovated space is the open work space that seeks to unify departments once separated into office suites. Hovering above, a perforated metal screen catches and distributes light evenly over the work below.
