Tour Four Fantastic Robert Oshatz Homes in Portland, Ore.

Portland, Ore.–based architect Robert Oshatz, whose own home draws inspiration between a funnel and Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon, is known for his offbeat designs. Homes perched on steep slopes with curvilinear appearances and clad in camouflaging woods and metals are his norm. Oshatz founded his firm in 1971 after a decade spent studying and working in architecture, and will take part in a four-house tour on Saturday, June 20. Benefiting the Portland Chamber Orchestra, one of the country’s oldest chamber orchestras, the tour will feature the Fennell floating home, the Wilkinson treehouse, the Rosenthal house, and Oshatz’s home, the Elk Rock residence. Shuttles will transport visitors from each home, ending the tour with a reception held at Oshatz’s house.
