Today, The American Institute of Architects revealed the winners of its 2022 Interior Architecture Awards. AIA selected seven projects that exemplified superior “design achievement, including sense of place and purpose, community access, ecology and environmental sustainability, and history,” according to its press release. The firms responsible for this year’s winning projects are Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture in Chicago; Payette in Boston; Aidlin Darling Design in San Francisco; William Rawn Associates, Architects in Boston; NBBJ in Seattle; and Deborah Berke Partners Partners in New York.
The jury for the 2022 Interior Architecture Awards comprised chair Janani Kanna, AIA, Corgan in Los Angeles; Marlene Imirzian, FAIA, Marlene Imirzian & Associates Architects in Phoenix, and Escondido, Calif.; Taal Safdie, AIA, Safdie Rabines Architects in San Diego; Mark Bacon, AIA, BVH Architects in Lincoln, Neb.; and Jodi Ernst, AIA, Architect of the Capitol in Bethesda, Md.
