The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) announced Wednesday that Provencher_Roy has won the institute’s 2015 Architectural Firm Award. The Montreal-based firm was founded in 1983.

According to the announcement, the Architectural Firm Award “recognizes the achievements of a firm for its quality of architecture, service to clients and innovations in practice. It also takes into account contribution to architectural education and professional organizations, as well as public recognition.” Last year’s recipient was MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects, the firm behind this year’s RAIC Gold Medal winner.

The jury for the Architectural Firm Award (the same as the RAIC Gold Medal jury) was Perkins+Will managing director Peter Busby, Intl. Assoc. AIA; RAIC past president Paule Boutin, Hon. AIA; Tyler Sharp, the winner of RAIC’s 2014 Young Architect Award; Siamak Hariri, Intl. Assoc. AIA, founding partner of Toronto-based Hariri Pontarini Architects; and Martin Houle, founder of the website Kollectif.
